Knockback is a core combat mechanic in 33 Immortals that causes enemies or players to be forcibly pushed in a direction upon impact from certain abilities, relics, or stagger effects. Knockback is useful for disrupting enemy formations, repositioning targets, and creating space for Revives, escapes, or zone control.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Knockback typically occurs as a result of abilities or attacks that apply a burst of force in addition to damage. While it does not inherently cause additional damage, it can displace enemies into traps, out of zones, or interrupt their positioning in elite waves.

Knockback Triggers[edit | edit source]

  • Gavel Bash – Powerful knockback on activation, especially with high Justice
  • Charge Attacks – Some weapons (e.g., Sword of Justice) apply knockback when charged
  • Stagger Effects – Enemies knocked back when staggered, depending on relics
  • Relics – Certain relics may enhance knockback strength or apply it on hit
  • Explosive Abilities – Skills like Delayed Burst may apply radial knockback

Effects on Enemies[edit | edit source]

  • Disrupts channeling or multi-phase attack positioning
  • Pushes enemies out of Zones, breaking buffs or synergy
  • Creates space for your team to reposition or focus targets
  • May interrupt elite mob coordination or charging enemies

Effects on Players[edit | edit source]

  • Some bosses and elite monsters apply knockback to push players into hazards
  • Can interrupt revive attempts or push players out of Healing Pulse and Bubble Shield zones
  • Requires fast recovery and repositioning to stay in the fight
  • Dash or Guard may prevent or negate knockback in certain cases

Strategy[edit | edit source]

  • Use knockback to isolate priority targets from enemy groups
  • Knock enemies into Zone Hazard or Delayed Burst areas for bonus damage
  • Disrupt boss mechanics that rely on close proximity or formations
  • Use knockback defensively to escape overwhelming pressure
  • Be cautious of enemy knockback during Revive or co-op abilities

Best Synergies[edit | edit source]

Visual Indicators[edit | edit source]

  • Enemies visibly flinch and fly backward upon being hit
  • Audio cue or shockwave animation may accompany heavy knockback
  • Knocked targets collide with obstacles or are staggered mid-animation

Summary[edit | edit source]

Knockback isn’t just about hitting hard—it’s about moving the battlefield. Whether you're breaking up enemy clusters, protecting your allies, or forcing elites into deadly zones, knockback is a powerful tool in the arsenal of every Rebel in 33 Immortals.
