Dante is a major non-playable character (NPC) in 33 Immortals. He is responsible for guiding players through the game's Perk system, enabling them to enhance and tailor their playstyles. Based on the real-world historical figure and poet Dante Alighieri, Dante serves as a mentor-like figure, helping Immortals grow stronger through spiritual and mechanical means.

Background[edit | edit source]

Dante is inspired by the 14th-century Italian poet best known for writing The Divine Comedy, the same literary work that inspired the narrative foundation of 33 Immortals. While the original Dante was a pilgrim journeying through the afterlife, this in-game version acts as a master of progression, unlocking potential and offering insight through powerful Perks.

Role in Gameplay[edit | edit source]

  • Dante resides in the Beyond and becomes accessible early in the game.
  • Players can visit him to equip, manage, and upgrade Perks obtained throughout their journey.
  • Perks offer passive and active benefits, affecting things like damage output, survivability, mobility, or utility skills.
  • Dante explains the purpose and synergy of each Perk, helping players craft builds that fit their preferred combat roles (melee, ranged, support, etc.).

Significance[edit | edit source]

Dante is one of the most practically important NPCs in the game. His role enables player growth and build experimentation, which are critical for surviving the escalating intensity of raids and boss fights. He also symbolizes inspiration and evolution, reflecting his poetic roots and his guidance through the chaos of rebellion.
